I’m a happily married 30 year old SAHMother of 3 (Mitten 11, Toot 4 and Pickle 2.) I live in the suburbs of Detroit. I enjoy driving my Volvo station wagon and listening to gangster rap ironically. The use of “men” in my blog title is purely for alliterative purposes, I’m all about the gender neutral descriptors when it comes to the big stuff.
I spent the first half of my twenties as a single mom, alterna-girl and student. I finished my BA in 2002 and I hope to be back for grad school at some point before I die. By the time my husband and I were married, we had been dating for 4 years, so we got down to it rather quickly. In the second half of my twenties, I’ve been frequently pregnant (Toot and Pickle are 19 months apart) and very pleased about it, much to my own surprise.
This site is a work in progress. I’m always going back and making little changes. I write about all manner of things: marriage, politics/religion/weather, raising kids, fashion, art, family, photography.

“You know what I think?” she says. “That people’s memories are maybe the fuel they burn to stay alive. Whether those memories have any actual importance or not, it doesn’t matter as far as the maintenance of life is concerned. They’re all just fuel. Advertising fillers in the newspaper, philosophy books, dirty pictures in a magazine, a bundle of ten-thousand-yen bills: when you feed ‘em to the fire, they’re all just paper. The fire isn’t thinking, ‘Oh, this is Kant, or ‘Oh, this is the Yomiuri evening edition,’ or ‘Nice tits,’ while it burns. To the fire, they’re nothing but scraps of paper. It’s the exact same thing. Important memories, not-so-important memories, totally useless memories: there’s no distinction — they’re all just fuel.”

my published book reviews: (I’m always looking to do more!)

I am SO jealous! I want to SAH too!
I say if you can afford it, dooo it! I have enjoyed the past 3 years immensely. And I can honestly say, although I didn’t start staying home till she was 6ish, even my oldest has benefitted emotionally from it.
Mitten, Toot and Pickle - Lovely!
Hello, nice to meet you! Nancy told me to check you out cause I’m a spunky mommy-to-be
I’m “Pistolette” on blogger, but I’m also on LJ as “la_mitraillette”. Added you to my feed reader.
Salut!
Hey! Thanks for the comment, I’ll go check you out. Congratulations on the ‘mommy-to-be’!
Isn’t “SAHM mother” a little like saying “ATM machine”? This is your brother posting from your laptop by the way. Hence the mysterious post by yourself.
